2018-2019 Budget Summary
Food $15,000/yr
Rent $16,500/yr
Insurance $1,500/yr
Lead Teacher Pay (2) $32,400/yr
Assistant Teacher Pay (2) $23,760/yr
Supplies and Instructional Materials $23,000/yr
Total $112,160/yr
HDP School will provide each child with a well rounded breakfast and lunch which adheres to the New York State Education Department standards. The approximate cost for year one is $15, 000. However, we have established communication with the Buffalo Public School District and we may qualify for their free breakfast and lunch program based on our location. More updates to come.
HDP School will be housed in the Loretto Ministry Center. We will be utilizing 2 large classrooms, 1 office, the large gym/multi-use room and the kitchen. The total rent for this space is $16, 500 for the first year.
Insurance coverage will be covered by Church Mutual Insurance company as an extension from His Dwelling Place Church's existing policy. This insurance policy will cover background checks for any employees and volunteers. It will also provide all of the protection needed for daily business as well as all of the special liabilities present when working with children. The total premium for one year of coverage is $1,500.
HDP School will have two classrooms for the first year- a 4 year old Pre-school class and a 5 year old Kindergarten class. As a result, we will need 1 qualified teachers to lead each classroom (2 total) and at least 1 assistant in each classroom. For the first year the pay for both of these positions will follow an hourly rate. With a total of 180 school days per calendar year, and 6 hours of work per school day, the total pay for 2 teachers is $32, 400 at a rate of $15/ hour. The total pay for 2 assistant teachers is $23,760 at a rate of $11/hour. These numbers are the ideal pay for the first year, however, we are looking for volunteers to fill the assistant teacher roles in order to cut down on costs for the first year.
Instructional materials will range anywhere from construction paper for crafts to textbooks and workbooks for instructional activities; posters and educational decor; scooters and balls for the gym; dress-up items for imagination stations and more! With the hope of enrolling approximately 40 students for our first year combined with the start-up cost of purchasing items that will be used for years to come, we anticipate the need for $23,000 in order to create an excellent educational atmosphere for each child. We have connected with North Park Community preschool and KidVenture preschool who have committed to passing along some instructional materials. Additionally, the Buffalo Public School District has a "sharing" policy with all non-public schools which applies to the shared use of textbooks, library books, and technology. These contributions would all work to lower the cost mentioned above.
